He Would Have Been 525 Year Old.

Henry VIII.1a

Henry VIII of England.

28 June 1491 – 28 January 1547.

Henry VIII : six marriages, was the key figure in the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church, in the Dissolution of the Monasteries and in establishing himself as the Supreme Head of the Church of England.

“He was responsible for the death of his two wives, twenty peers, four leading public servants, six close attendants and friends, one cardinal and numerous abbots.”

Henry VIII.3c

Henry was given everything: a peaceful and happy childhood, unchallenged succession to the throne, good health, courage, charisma, energy, intelligence, terrific learning abilities, a brilliant education, rare talent in poetry, music and dance.

Certain historians believe Henry VIII to be merely a victim of various court intrigues and political schemes against him. However, if we must look at him as “a victim” it would be more accurate to say that he was a victim of his own character i.e. his selfishness and a strong yet blind belief in his own infallibility.

    • I like Tudor history too. It’s so tragic and complicated. Just like the fashion of that time.
Thank you for your comment. This is one of the earliest works of mine. Now I would make it absolutely differently. Thanks again. Have a lovely evening. 🙂

  1. This doll is really impressive. You’ve done ‘Our ‘enry” proud. He’s one of the most well known figures in English history and he looks very much the powerful king in the costume you’ve given him. Beautifully detailed. 🙂

    • Thank you, Millie.
This “Henry VIII” doll and all “The Historical Figures” collection of mine, which was made quite a while ago, looks little bit old-fashioned to me now.
I would like to find something different, another kind of approach, more modern and fresh.
I do not know yet how, but I will try.
